Samantha Wills – jewellery

At only 21 years of age, Samantha Wills founded her own self titled accessories (jewellery) company. An instant hit with media and customers alike, Wills quickly gained a high profile in the media spotlight as one of Australia’s most dynamic designers.

Having her jewellery featured in Sex and The City, thrust Wills onto the International stage, and she was shortly after declared a ‘Break Out Star’ by the New York Times.

Wills’ online voice is natural & down to earth, whilst her imagery and jetsetting lifestyle are glamorous. This unique mix of aspiration and approachability in her down to earth voice has become bankable property, with brands such as American Express, SK- II & Mount Franklin engaging Samantha to work on projects with complete creative freedom. Most recently, iconic Australian sparkling wine brand Yellowglen appointed Wills as Creative Director, where she will be responsible for infusing her signature style across the brand’s portfolio.

Known for her Luxe Bohemian aesthetic, Wills infuses her personal style through her namesake brand where she acts as both Creative Director & head designer. Wills actively sits across the brand’s marketing & communications, something she notes as important to create her vision as omni – from product design to social media messaging.

Wills is outspoken on the statement that there is ‘no need for what we do, that it’s a luxury to be able to be able to work in this industry (fashion) that is a ‘for want’ industry’. As such, Wills is invested in giving back across multiple platforms, prominently philanthropy, where she is the spokesperson for Mount Franklin for McGrath Foundation and is also active in the mentoring of young women, in both business and lifestyle.

A regular keynote speaker at conferences gloablly that focus on women in business, Wills also often shares her inspiring story with young women, with the message; ‘Young girls with dreams, become women with vision.’ By doing so, she hopes to encourage young women that no matter what your background, chase your dreams with aggression, persistence and hard work.

Sticky Fingers Bakery – Wedding Cakes

Hayley McKee is in the business of making good things better. A self taught baker, Hayley drew from knowledge gained in front of house patisserie roles, historical cook books and childhood memories of her mother’s flamboyant Baked Alaskas and Zucottos.

Pouring into every creation a love and knowledge of music, she opened Sticky Fingers Bakery officially in 2010, playing records in the kitchen, taking song requests for orders; whisking, kneading and nodding to the beat.

Today she continues to whip up her unique blend of custom designed cakes, serving all with a healthy dose of wholesome heart, humour and serenade. Combining flavours in thoughtful and surprising ways, her resultant sweet things are made from seasonal, local ingredients, obscure grocery store finds, homegrown herbs and edible native plants. They are fashioned into detailed rustic creations, layered with creamy icing and flavour-packed fillings.

Hayley’s desserts have been commissioned by Frankie Magazine, Lanie Lane, ABC Radio, Warner Brothers Music, The Australian Ballet, Malthouse Theatre and WestSpace Gallery. She’s collaborated with popular fashion events including Romance Was Born, Trophy Wife Nail Art and by request for Alice McCall.

Sticky Fingers Bakery has been praised by the press; featured in international editions of Glamour, Vogue, Rookie, Renegade Collective and I Heart and more locally down under in Frankie, The Age, Broadsheet, The Thousands, Yen and Home & Garden. You can even see a prized cake in Beci Orpin’s ‘Find & Keep’ book.

She is a regular writer of dessert culture articles and recipes for Hooray, Broadsheet, The Blackmail, Daily Life and Dirty Furniture.

From time to time Hayley host’s unique dessert events. She’s celebrated sweets in cinema with Hungry Eyes, transformed a cult song into a tropical dessert buffet at Sweet Easy, and hosted a Sweet Talk workshop at Flour Market, all about combining root vegetables and edible flowers in baking.

allseated.com – planning app perfection

In their own words:

AllSeated is the first online collaboration application built specifically for the events industry by industry professionals themselves. We know that planning an event, whether it’s a wedding, a charity function, or a corporate meeting, requires constant attention to detail and ongoing coordination between venues, event planners, vendors, and event hosts. Those details can be difficult to manage, and coordination between all the required parties can be nearly impossible. That’s why our service was designed for ease of use and hosted in the cloud, with a centralized and secured website

We are a team of entrepreneurs, each with a unique perspective on the events industry. Sandy Hammer managed her own corporate events business for over a decade; Daniel Anisman is a software engineer who developed a number of successful, user-friendly applications; Arthur Backal, our Chairman, has worked with many of the leading hotels in the world. Together, we represent every facet of the events industry.

It all started nearly seven years ago when Daniel’s secretary needed to figure out how to seat her guests at her upcoming wedding. Daniel desperately needed her to continue her office work, but she was overwhelmed with planning her wedding. His solution? He built an application to help her easily and quickly seat her guests. The application was so effective and so easy to use that quickly over 30,000 brides started using it locally in Israel.

The need for AllSeated was clear, and we went to work. We spent twelve months building the core application, and then over the next half a year,  worked with top hotels, caterers, and event planners in the US. We capitalized on their years of experience, listened to their stories, and ultimately gained an understanding of exactly what they needed and wanted to streamline event planning, for both them and their clients.

Our Industry partners currently include: The Plaza, The Mandarin, The Conrad, Apella, Pier 60, The Pierre, Harriette Rose Katz of Gourmet Advisory Services, State of the Art, Marcia Selden Catering and Foremost Caterers.

AllSeated is available FREE of charge. Use it to view your venue map, build your guest list, and seat your guests. Everyone involved in planning the event has access to the service from anywhere, at anytime enabling them to make time-sensitive decisions based on the most current information, eliminating unnecessary errors, and time-consuming mistakes. Its ease of use means you can import your guests from your social networks and email accounts, creating your guests list in minutes. Family and friends want to be involved? Instead of countless phone calls, faxes, and emails, simply invite them to share your event and in seconds, they are part of the planning process.
